To further help wildlife organizations, DAWN has graciously agreed to increase its donation to $3 per bottle of dishwashing liquid that consumers purchase and activate by January 4, 2010. IBRRC and the MMC will each earn $1.50 per bottle registered online at the DAWN site.
It only takes a moment to add the bottle ID number, your zip code and the store where you purchased your bottle. Don't forget to register
The maximum donation from DAWN will be $500,000 to both groups. Your help is needed to reach that goal! The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California also receives a matching $1.50 per registered bottle.
Dawn is continuing over 30 years of support for wildlife rescue efforts through their national program called “Everyday Wildlife Champions.” This program will allow consumers to become part of the movement to save and preserve our delicate marine ecosystem and the animals that call it home through their purchase of a bottle of DAWN.
As a dedicated member of the IBRRC and a marine wildlife enthusiast, we are looking to you to spread the word about Everyday Wildlife Champions online. Whether you have your own blog, frequently post on other wildlife sites or on Facebook about marine life from time to time, we want to hear from you! The smallest efforts will make a large impact – all you need to do is chat online about the program and join the Dawn Saves Wildlife Facebook page. Once on the Facebook Page, we want you to share your passion for wildlife conservation and post conservation events that are happening in your area. This is a great way to extend your continued support for important wildlife issues.

How Dawn Has Helped
More than 30 years ago, the IBRRC
was seeking a solution to clean
oil from bird’s feathers.
IBRRC discovered that Dawn dishwashing
liquid was powerful enough to effectively
remove oil from birds' feathers,
while remaining gentle on their
feathers, skin and eyes. Since
then, rescue groups worldwide have
chosen Dawn to clean aquatic animals. Dark before Dawn
"Dawn has made a difference
in helping us save countless birds
and animals over the years," said
Jay Holcomb, IBRRC’s Executive
Director. "But this effort
is even bigger. This says we all
can make a difference and every
little bit helps."
